What is the js-in project ?
js-in (spelled jay sin) was started to cater to the increasing need for support for indian langauges among popular scripting languages that would facilitate faster localised web based development which with this reusable and portable code library. The project url is http://sourceforge.net/projects/js-in
What should you expect from the js-in project ?
Like many trends , localisation comes after a significent work has been done with a focus on building generic and global in perspective .Which is why a library built by indians for indian developement does nt sound like a bad idea . Hence ,apart from generic usability and framework features common to most libraries like ajax and usability- there will also be a focus on bringing in translation and cross language data mashing .
So who’s behind it ?
Well since it is open source , we eventually hope that the library is useful and used as well as contributed by the public domain in general . Heading the js-in project from its initiation or rather instantiation ; ) and are its two admins -Bhasker V Kode and P V Sundarram - two developers with a undiminished passion for writing beautiful code ,and making a difference with their work. This project would be considered a success if even a single indian oriented project makes use of this library in serving to an indian context .
So where do I start ?
Take a look at the js-in sandbox page ,which has some good guidelines . If nothing ,simply reading and going through this library would help you identify efficient design patterns for scalable and dynamic web applications , widgets and tools .
What is the js-in sandbox page ?
The js-in sandbox page was setup for merely serving as a walkthrough tutorial as to how to go about with coding and commenting for the js-in project library .
